The Fenn School: A Case Study
The Fenn School is a Massachusetts-based all-boys school, grades five through nine, which concentrates on a comprehensive education of the whole boy. Since its founding in 1929, the school has built its entire culture around the central themes of their four core values; Honesty, Courage, Empathy, and Respect.
Fenn selected Copper Hound Pictures to create a compelling library of video and photo assets that captured the unique spirit of the school.
The primary target for our work was perspective students and parents, while the secondary target being the wider alumni base, current students, parents, teachers, and administration. Like most prep schools, Fenn faces competition from the other all-boy schools in the area, and they need to continually differentiate themselves from each. But a very common question parents also ask is: "Why should I send my son to a private school versus public school?"
It was from here that Copper Hound Pictures set out to emotionally showcase how Fenn can become a true foundation for its maturing students, and the place where one day its graduates will confidently look back and say "that is where it all began."

Fenn may seem like your typical private elementary and middle school - a beautiful campus, warm and inviting faculty, and high achieving students who seem to work and play hard. Upon spending time on campus, we also discovered that the school enthusiastically embraces its mission each and every day. Our goal was to capture that spirit within videos and photos.
We spent three days capturing content on campus. We joined classes, watched sports practices, and observed their talents in the arts and music. We even ate lunch with the boys. During our time on campus we interviewed 10 boys, ranging from 4th to 8th grade. Their passion for the school was so transparent and amazing. Immediately, we all wanted to send our kids there.

The Arts video at the top is one of our favorites to date. We wrote the script and edited the video, but we struggled finding the perfect voiceover. The Director of Marketing had an idea, which was a long shot, but we thought she should try. She reached out to a Fenn alum, Steve Carell, to see if he would be interested. He recorded the voiceover during a recording session for Despicable Me 3. The video has been watched over 10,000 times on Facebook and the comments and praises have come pouring in from parents, faculty and alumni.
